Education

Centuries of colonization have allowed us to distance ourselves from the truth; that the tea we drink is grown primarily by Black and Asian folks to profit white company owners and shareholders. Through journal entries, local and online events, Loose Sips educates tea drinkers so they can love and appreciate tea deeper than ever.

Stewardship

Tea is my passion, but it is not my culture. It’s important to remember the difference between cultural appreciation and appropriation, and the fine line that separates them. At Loose Sips, I try to hold and share the knowledge of tea without claiming it as my own.

Support

With education and stewardship as my guide, Loose Sips supports the Black and Asian workers, farmers, and owners through purchasing and donations. I only review teas from companies that share these values, and treat workers and farmers with fairness and dignity. Loose Sips also donates 10% of its profit to charity.
